What makes Gratitude, Gratitude.
A house that gathers.
Six bedrooms. Two fireplaces. A Table that seats eight or more. A parlor stocked with cards and games for any age. In the dining room, a basket of conversation starters that pull a few generations into a single story. The gathering is the point. Gathering up your own thoughts to share is the point too.
A practice, not a stay.
A thank-you note station in the parlor. Letterpress stationery, real fountain pens, a wax seal. Write someone a note — we mail it Friday.

Six bedrooms. One of them — the Bunkhouse — has canvas-tent closets the kids ask for by name. One of them — Sanctuary — is on the main floor, for the guest whose mobility is having a complicated season. A working fireplace, restored this spring. A queen made of logs that’s a hundred years old. Both are good.

Welcome to Gratitude — a place to feel at home away from home.
In loving memory of my mother, Kally Klose, you will find a thank-you note card and envelope for your use. Kally was well known for her passionate belief in a simple "Thank you." She often wrote notes of gratitude and appreciation to a waiter, a flight attendant, a customer service representative, or a friend.
Kally believed that the world was overflowing with complaints and criticism, and would be a better place if folks more often just said "Thank you."
While you're here, give some thought to those in your life who have made a rough patch a little easier, encouraged you when you needed it, or simply made you feel appreciated. Then pull out the notecard and write a few heartfelt lines to someone you believe needs to know how much their honest and selfless actions or kind words mean to you.
Take your note with you and deliver it yourself — or address and seal it, and we will be sure it is stamped and mailed the next day.
